Newcastle Girls School
SUDS
A great example of the use of a Tier 1 SUDS solution using ECO90, when the planners would not allow the new all-weather pitch to drain into the main sewer network
Melbourne Anglers Tavern
An innovative approach to flood mitigation combined with parametric insurance. The venue’s critical infrastructure is protected internally to a flood height of 2.4m with parametric cover included for larger flood events above 2% AEP
Snap Fitness London
After the gym had flooded internally twice, in June & July 2018, the gym owners
& their insurers commissioned a flood risk report from an independent surveyor
UK Case Studies
An overview of three case studies showing how Flood Resilient Repair (aka Wet Proofing) can be combined with Flood Resistance (aka Dry Proofing) to provide a solution to keep low level flooding at bay whilst allowing for a rapid recovery when the barriers overtop in larger storm events. Practical structural building constraints prevent the use of dry proofing for these high level events, so letting the water in and making the property resilient affords a great combined solution.
Edgbaston Cricket Ground
SUDS
The installation of ECO90 in soft turf using rows of Primary (6m & 12m) and Secondary (1.5m & 3m) rods to transform the infiltration rates up to 9mm per hour
Gleneagles, Scotland
SUDS
A fine example of the use of ECO90 in a soft turf application without the need for an infiltration trench

I have worked with John for many years from developing best practice standards through to both design and implementation of simple and strategic flood protection projects.
John has always ensured that the customer need is delivered which was best demonstrated when we worked on a significant project adjacent to an estuary which encompassed significant ground works across the site, protection to critical buildings however also understanding what areas the client would be willing to leave unprotected and how that impacted the overall strategic plan
Following his introductions to us in this specialised field, John was able to quickly and expertly identify the most suitable flood protection strategy for the Anglers Tavern following the 2022 floods. After developing these plans, he was subsequently able to navigate our team through what was a highly specialised journey, providing expert advice through the on-site installation and off-site fabrication phases.
We look forward to partnering with John on any upcoming flood protection requirements across our national portfolio of venues, and provide our recommendations towards his engagement on any flood protection related matters.
We have now installed all of the flood defence measures that were recommended by you when you prepared a consulting report whilst at Aquobex. I am very pleased to report that they are totally effective.
Since installing the flood barriers, organising annual dry runs and sharing our FERP with insurers, both the landlord and tenant insurance policies have been broadened, and limits have increased.
For instance, the landlord was denied insurance for many years; we now have a coverage solution as a result of the flood mitigation practices in place.
