Elevation is the second best option for flood mitigation after building outside of the flood zone but there are a number of ways that architects can incorporate flood designs into new and existing properties. Elevation is not always an option especially if catering for disabled access and planning height restrictions.

This course will help you find other solutions based on flood type, duration and warning times. They may include automatic or manual barriers aesthetically integrated into your design to become “invisible” when not in use or it could be floodproof curtain walling in a modern office block setting.
